Summary

The University of Memphis parking deck and adjacent outdoor amphitheater, completed in fall 2019, represents a major enhancement to campus infrastructure with a six-level parking structure accommodating over 1,140 vehicles along with a striking pedestrian bridge and amphitheater plaza. Designed to improve safety and connectivity across busy Southern Avenue and rail lines, this concrete-driven project integrates functional design with iconic architectural features inspired by cable‑stayed bridge systems. Bass Concrete was engaged to deliver all building concrete work, expertly executing foundations, deck slabs, pedestrian approaches, and structural walkways to meet demanding performance standards. Our team collaborated closely with the general contractor and design team to ensure precise placement and finishing of exposed concrete surfaces throughout the parking deck, bridge, and amphitheater zones.
