Summary

Located in Little Rock’s historic East End and adjacent to key cultural landmarks including the Clinton Presidential Center, the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, and the future home of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Artspace Windgate Campus serves as a new anchor for the city’s growing arts and culture district. The four-story, new-construction development features 60 affordable live/work residential units designed for artists and their families, ten artist-in-residence studios, flexible gallery and event spaces centered around a large outdoor courtyard, and approximately 9,007 square feet of commercial space dedicated to local arts and cultural organizations.

Construction began with a below-grade parking structure and integrated water retention system, requiring over 20,000 square feet of wall formwork, 39,000 square feet of slab-on-grade concrete placements, and cast-in-place foundations and columns designed to support the podium slab and elevated deck structure above. Podium slab and beam construction included more than 30,000 square feet of shoring, approximately 1,500 cubic yards of concrete placements, and installation of a 28-ton post-tension cable system.
