Summary

This expansion for Oaklawn Racing & Gaming started in 2019 and phased out in 2024. The schedule included pausing for racing season and quiet times until 10am each morning while the horses trained. The first part of this expansion consisted of expanding the gaming floor and adding the high limits area, the finish line bar, Silks Bar and Grill, and the table game area. Next up was to start on the eight-story hotel and spa center. Following that was the convention center and parking lot to account for the influx of guests. During one of the off seasons, before training began, we replaced one of the tunnel accesses to the infield. This required a large section of the track to be excavated and the old tunnel demolished. The latest modifications to take place was the expansion of the gift shop, enlarged concession stand, and balcony for guests to watch the races.
