Summary

This project at the existing Cooper Tire Manufacturing Facility in Texarkana added an additional mixer and three levels of production floor. The production floor rested on drilled piers, pier caps, and continuous footings. The slabs on all three levels of the production facility had a top cast heavy duty metallic topping and densifier applied. The tandem mixer rested on drilled piers and a four-foot-thick mat foundation. The two levels of the two-foot-thick structural slabs that made up the mixer mezzanine were supported by cast-in-place columns. All formwork and shoring was installed by Bass. The new tandem mixer facility was then surrounded by heavy duty paving.
